Melissa was awesome, "Mother Nature"- not so nice with the rain and mud! It was ok, didn't really matter once the concert started. We really enjoyed the concert. Melissa really puts her heart and soul into her performance. She is an "inspiration" She has great messages about "life"-"Loving" and "living" There was such a diverse group of people -people of color, gay, straight, old, young, families, people in wheelchairs, etc. We had the sun too, inspite of the storms! Thanks to Melissa, band, crew, and all the people who made this concert possible. One more thing, thanks to those of you who got our vehicle unstuck from the mud!!! PEACE! Dar & Leanne (Newport, VT)

The show was great although some members of the audience were really rude. They kept yelling out requests and talking over her as she was trying to speak. Finally she did play You Can Sleep While I Drive. Some of the sound was crappy too as when she sang The Different and Mama I'm Strange I could hardly make out the words even though I knew the lryics. The venue staff was rude as well as they kept saying that if we don't sit down so that others with chairs can see they wouldn't start the show. At one point a woman beside me to my right yelled out that if people with chairs who wished to sit sat at one side of the lawn and those wishing to stand could have the other side it would be fair to everyone. At one point she even asked one of the workers if they had even been to a Melissa concert before stating the fact MLE expects her audience to stand and rock out. When the show started Fritz saw me and said from his drumstick something along the lines of Hey Man Great To see you here. Phillip also at one point smiled and tipped his hat to me. MLE also broke a guitar string during Like the Way I Do. The rain didn't seem to dampen our spirits. It was another solid show. Bring on TO !!!!

fights can be fun..to a point....untill a knife comes out..people get to drunk and lose control..i am going to see my boy george thorogood in ca,and reno wed,thursday (front row both nights) there will be at LEAST 3 FIGHTS PER SHOW...buzz kill....saturday night we will be at the greek in berkley for john couger...much..MUCH better crowd.

i can't wait for melissa in mpls..my wife is starting to like her music.

The sound board got fried from the storm. They were running sound from the monitor on the stage. Thats why the sound was not perfect. It was amazing anyway, I had a ball!!

My concert day.... We got up and 5 am and left for Vermont. We had 3 of our kids and our best friend from Florida in the car by 8. We were to meet up with my parents, they had Maddy with them and My brother his wife and 2 kids and also meet up with Our friends buddy from florida. We were to catch an 11 oclock ferry from Port Kent to Burlington. My parents got there first and we got there just in time and I am sure my folks were agitated!! We made it, it was beautiful out and the ride over was stupendous, what a view!! Got to the hotel that was supposedly right next door to the venue only to find out that it was at the Shelburne Museum, but the Museum websight was very misleading and made said that they were next door to the Best Western in South Burlington, well it was a thirty minute drive!! Ok, well whatever, shower and head to the concert!! Soooo then we get to the concert and go into the museum store and ask where we pick up out tix, they say at Higher Ground, as they do the "concert stuff" Not the museum. Well that was where we drove over from. OMFG, you have to be kidding. Well thank God Lesbians know everything and we found one who showed us where to get our tickets!!! So we go to get the tix and my Mom's homophobia starts to come out, even tho she just said she was "hot". Argh.....why did she come anyway??? LOL. We camp out on a blanket and relax. A certain boardie came over to say hi!!! Thanks for the pink chair btw!!! It was nice meeting you and I loved the candy necklace you gave Melissa!!! NIce!!!

After a while we went and got in the fan club line (Thanks to that same boardie who told us where to go). I have not been to a Melissa concert in five years, I needed guidence!! Soooo it got to be almost time to go in when they announced a deadly storm and sent us all to our cars!!! Off to our cars we went, gave the kids a snack and sat and waited. In the meantime my mom calls and says we should all just leave the concert and go to our hotel and swim. Hell NOOOOOOOO I am not leaving!!! She got pissy!!! I did not care. Also while it was storming I was concerned because my Florida friend was missing, where could she be in the storm, then we spotted her, she was in the sound tent. Why??? We had no idea!! Well she is a musician and has a way of getting whatever she wants, when it started storming she noticed the sound stuff getting wet cuz the tent was blowing up so she went in and covered it and held the tent down. The sound people came back and she was holding the tent down as they tried to get in and she was inside saying ....Who Is it??? The guys came in with towels, so she just took a towel and started helping and actually took part of the board apart for them, finally a guy asked, "who are you" She said, "Laurie from Florida" she stayed with them the whole time and they are sending her tickets to any show she wants to go to and we got official set lists!!!!She had a ball, even tho she wanted to meet the girl of her dreams and ended up with sox crew guys, lol.

So back to my mom wanting to leave. The storm blows over, we go get in line, we get way up clost to the stage, as close as I wanted to get with 6 children, I think we were four or so rows back and everyone was so respectful of the children!!My double stroller gave me lots of personal space baricade!! My mom is being pissy pissy, she did not like the mud, she wanted to leave, made my brother and his wife leave too, so my brother was nice enough to take the baby. My sister in law was upset she wanted to stay, I would have anyway if I were her!!!So we got a little muddy, who cares, my kids loved the show, my partner loved the show, I felt like I was back ten years!! I smiled the whole night, it was soooooo amazing, Melissa was soooooo awesome. She really gives it all she has and then some, she is the best performer, I forgot how intense and wonderful she is . I loved it, loved it , loved it!!!!I want more!! Rain, broken sound equiptment, did not matter, freaking awesome!!!

Thanks Eagle, we had a ball!! Got all dirty but it was soooo worth it. I am just sorry my brother and sis in law had to miss it!! My kids were so good, they clapped and danced and smiled the whole time. Ella got tired but she still clapped after every single song. I love my kids!! Jonah just grinned ear to ear!!

The show was amazing. I am Vermonter from life and seeing Melissa in my backyard was amazing. We were at the museum early enough to see her bus come in and she waved to us. The highlite of my life was being right up against the stage for the whole show and getting to hold "shake" her hand at the end, despite the rude security who told us we'd have to sit. I was right in front of Philip, he has amazing eyes and a wonderful smile. To have Melissa right in front of me when she was jamming with Philip was amazing. I wish I had brought my son because it was his 7th birthday and we noticed that Melissa gave most of her picks to the kids that were there up front. I bet she would have given one to my son for his birthday. I am still on cloud nine from the show. The mud finally came out of my pants but not out of me Keen sandals. BEST SHOW I HAVE SEEN THUS FAR. She only played for 2 and a half hours though because of the rain and storm delay. She didn't do her full set list. GREAT TIME. ENDING WITH PIECE OF MY HEART WAS PERFECT. LOVE YA MELISSA THANKS FOR A GREAT SHOW!!!! See you soon from the home of Ben and Jerry's.
