July 25 Foxwoods (Mashantucket, CT) Reviews & Discussions

Postby HugsY2K on Thu Jul 24, 2008 8:03 pm

Couldn't resist starting this post.  ;)
TGIF!  I took the day off from work and so a 3-day weekend ahead. Yay!!  :clapping:  We are in the middle of remodeling our kitchen, so crossing our fingers that all the deliveries are early, so we can hit the road,
stop at our friend's (3/4 mark) for a dip in the pool, then drive to Foxwoods to meet our concert buddies.
It's been almost 1.5 weeks, so I am very excited  :clapping: and yet very sad :bawling: that it's my last MLE concert til ?? [Sugarbush?!?!].
Heading to bed soon to get a good night's rest --I know a handful of us are already in MLE and/or Sweet Pea dreamland.  (Uhm, you know who you are!)
FOXWOODS: here comes Linda, Jeanette, Tracy, Kris, & Sal all who's ready to rock & roll  :group hug:
All other suspects, feel free to announce yourself.  8-)

:wheee!: :wheee!: Countdown begins now!  :wheee!:  :wheee!:

Cheers,
Linda

So many great moments tonite. :clapping: Stay tune for my buddies Tracy & Kris to share details in length. Thanks in advance ladies. You gals usually do a far better review anyway. :thumbs up:

What an awesome show! Thanks for posting the set list Kris. We had a party to go to tonight and this is my first chance to post a review. That was so awesome having Melissa play Nowhere To Go for us! It was funny watching her hang her head in torment over whether to play it or not. Thanks for playing it Melissa!!!!

The stage rush happened as soon as the lights went down. We ended up about 2 - 3 people deep and about 4 feet to the right of Melissa, directly in front of the speaker. Perfect spot! Melissa was very playful at this show. She and Philip did a VERY sexy guitar thing in the middle of the floor with Philip laying completely down and Melissa on top - slightly off to the side. Very hot. S_A got video, I'm sure it is here somewhere!

Kris & Sal, Hugs and I all ended up together at the stage so it made it even better that we could experience our last show all together.

Anyway, hope everyone enjoys all the shows that they have left to go to! My Melissa season is over :( But I did hear a rumor that she might come out alone next year and tour! :clapping: So we shall see, start saving now!!!!

Can't wait for the pictures Linda!!!

We have to plan dinner and drinks soon so I don't miss you guys too much.

Wow tracy...looks like you may have the inside track and then the rumors of her going overseas cant be too way off if shes going out alone to tour next year  Lets hope that is true because there are a lot of hungry Europeans that are just waiting for her to come their way...so no hugs from Philip last night.? ;) ..what no waiting by the back door for the band to come out...oh that video that S_A took is up and its amazing! I do say that she should become MLE exclusive photographer because...S_A you surely know what you are doing with a camera plus it doesnt hurt to be tall also  A great moment caught on camera but there are so many of those these days and to hear them say...were gonna be on youtube baby and look right into cameras was PRICELESS!!
Here I know you are tired so I will make it easy for you

:clapping: what a night!

This was my fifth and sadly final show of the tour.... I want more!!! As all of you who have been can understand, seeing Melissa and the band is not just spending 3 hours watching her play, it is an EXPERIENCE. I think this is why she named it the Revival tour because it gets you from the tip of your toes to the top of your head. It's something that grips you and you won't soon lose it.

The band, all in sync... Playing as one. It was as close to perfection as i've ever seen. Melissa was joyous that night. I would even go so far as to say she was bubbly! Chatting with the crowd, playing with philip and man oh man when she made him lay down she most certainly had her way with him! She has perfected her craft, perfected the unity of her band and simply thrives on the love that her fans give her.

I have my pictures, my memories and lucky me, my guitar picks from M.E. and Philip. Though I am heartbroken my journey is over for now, I am ever grateful that she put herself out there once again and made her magic.

A huge thank you to Tammy and her kids for sharing her...

Peace and Love

You think so? I love it. I agree -definately great memories. ;)
With the economy in such poor status, I've been blessed to have attended 5 shows and to have hung out with wonderful friends & fans. :group hug:
Heartfelt thoughts are being sent to MLE & her band for a successful tour the rest of the summer. :rose:

Cheers,
Linda

That's very funny. When I did the stage rush, my gf and I ended up separate ways. She ended up in front of Philip, while my friends & I were a few feet from MLE.

Well, my gf says one of the fans actually offered Philip a cigarette. He responded with a huge smile.

That was lovely. I agree with the huge thank yous to all The E's. The 3 hour shows are just an incredible gift these days alone in the music world. Melissa sure is on a higher elevation of her craft but magic like that indeed gets better and better. The whole band is just absolutely on it and the longer the tour rolls on the friskier they get ... we're here on the West Coast and we are waiting. :group hug:

Thanks for all the reviews!

I have to agree about it being an "EXPERIENCE" and not just a cocnert. Melissa is more than playful with her audiences which are the types of things that makes each show so special and so memorable in and of themselves.

This show was my last one for this tour as well. I will certainly miss the high that I get from each and every moment of the show, but I've made some great friends along the way the past few years and plan to continue those even in the Melissa "off-season"...LOL.

Linda & Jeanette, Kris & Sal...we definitely have to keep in touch! I feel as though I have made some very good friends in you guys.

Angie and Dawn, it has been the utmost pleasure getting to chat with you gals before and after the shows. Have fun at the rest of the shows that you'll be heading to. I will see you on the boards. :)

Camille, enjoy the rest of your journey into revival-land! It was awesome getting to hang a bit and hear a bit about it.

Nancy, You can be my ticket partner anytime...except Jones Beach...LOL

It has been an awesome tour. I'll have to write down all of my own personal highlights...well, most of them ;) Some of them I'm keeping for myself...LOL. u all! :group hug:

Well no, I suppose it doesn't but what helps the most is when I'm standing right at the stage one step away from her microphone. ;)

I truely LOVE this song. :rose: How amazing that she played this song for us. Thank you so much Melissa for making an unforgettable night even that much more special!

I know a place
Down past an old shack
On a road that goes to nowhere
Aint nobody coming back
We can go there tonight
We can talk until dawn
Or maybe something else
Ill leave the radio on

Theres no one to hear
You might as well scream
They never woke up
From the american dream
And they dont understand
What they dont see
And they look through you
And they look past me
Oh, you and I dancing slow
And we got nowhere to go

Past the wal-mart and the prison
Down by the old v.a.
Just my jeans and my t-shirt
And my blue chevrolet
Its saturday night
Feels like everythings wrong
Ive got some strawberry wine
I wanna get you alone

Down by the muddy water
Of the mighty mo
In an old abandoned box car
Will I ever know

Dance with me forever
This moment is divine
Im so close to heaven
This hell is not mine
This hell is not mine...
Live every moment...
