What can I say about Melissa last night other then awesome, beautiful, talented and def on fire. I have to say that she has taken over Sarah Mclachlan's #1 spot on my list of all time favorite women musicians. I am a big fan of her guitar work especially tonight. The band was tight and you could really tell she loved playing with them. Peter Thorn was amazing. The new album really works live. The highlights for me were Nervous, Drag Me Away and The Wanting of You. She ended with Gently We Row which is one of my least favorites on Fearless Love. I thought it was too slow to end the show with, this is just my honest opinion. I loved I'm The Only One, BMSW and LTWID back to back. I would loved to have heard No Souvenirs but I Want To Come Over did the trick as well as The Different. I thought If I Wanted Too was slowed down from the original. I give it a 10/10. I was shocked to realize that it was almost a three hour show. Towards the end she thanked us for coming even though times are tough which was very cool.

Yes definately an incredible night! Drove in with luvher1973 and her partner Doreen and caught up with lots of friends. Walked around the outside of the theater around 7pm and happened to see MLE walk out one door and into another!!! We all said hi and couldn't believe our timing - way to go luvher!!!!! :clapping:

We ended up 3rd row center (thanks MEIN) and although we tried to stage rush several times we were held back until the middle of Indiana. During the intro to Company she started to introduce IWTCO and couldn't understand why the drum beat was not what she expected...she looked at the setlist 3 times before realizing she was supposed to be singing company and commented how momma needs to wear her glasses on stage. It was a very funny moment. At one point she was talking about how you should live to its fullest, "there are so many places to go, things to see, people to d.....". She had us cracking up with that one and her face was priceless.

Highlights for me were the wanting of you and drag me away into nervous - totally rocked!! And we got to bang on her guitar during LTWID - way cool.

Can't wait until Friday and do it all again!!!!

Freakin amazing show so much I am looking for tickets to Fri nite at Brunswick for me and a friend...Nat if they are out there we shall find them :D

Bear with me as I will probably be all over the place with this review  Got home at almost 1am and was exhausted and then up at 5:30am.
Hugs dont know how you do it  (and I drive) Friends drove last night and we just got there in time(well the ones in the car did who had to get out b/c had to get them their tickets from another fan) as our driver had to find parking which was a nitemare :twitchshocked: )

MLE was freakin on FIRE last night and every nite as Ive been told and see on video!!! Thankfully I got the ENTIRE Audio of the show and will be posting that later today on here and on the other thread I created of mp3 files

Also got much on video even though many for sure had to be better than I but got some amazing moments on tape. Line of the night....during Drag ME Away...."I GOT PEOPLE TO DO" OMG that was too too funny and she even surprised herself when she said it and went huh???? ALL ON TAPE folks and you will LUAO when you see/hear it!! The best and she also told us WE are the longest relationship shes had..sad but amazingly amusing at the same time.

She was on fire during Indiana...interesting and ironic how that song now is a rock out number with her purple mic (which she commented about and loved :D )hitting the stage during the song(either she made it happen or it was by accident and I sure hope someone got that song on video) That was when the rush happened. Tons of fans hit the stage where before that the security had it pinned down so no one could get close other than those with tickets in the front. During INTWU (now you got it Andrew :D ) I had a Im Awake Sticker that IAM made for the HRC show to give to a fan who had requested it tonite and didnt expect her to sing the song. Once she started I went to the front right and stood at the 1st or 2nd row as security was pushing me not to go forward. I held it up here and there for the chance she would see the sticker with some light in front but a beam of light was in her eyes and she hadnt looked my way till the end of the song. Most in the audience couldnt even see me b/c most of the show everyone was standing :D and the theater was huge IMO Standing-(that works for a rock concert folks  ) Even security came over to me saying she wont see it b/c of the spot light. I said okay no biggie but stood there for that possible recognition of the sticker/sign. Then she finally looked over my way and gave a head nod!! I think fans behind me were yelling and pointing as I heard a bit but never turned around!! There it was the nod!! as she played. Then I turned and went back and got a few high fives from near my 5th row seat.(thanks Kathyb!! :D )..OH THANK YOU MEIN for those perfect seats!!

I got Nowhere to go as a full video and then from Heaven on Earth(my fav song) from this point on. Absolutely Love HOE so that was for sure gonna be recorded and from that pt on the camera stayed up!! :D Few heads here and there but some amazing stuff and when she and Peter were on the guitar together (BMSW) just wait till you see some unique video on that. Later on youtube so look for all that.

(full video)
Heaven On Earth
Indiana(sorry not Indiana and hope some fan got this!) audio yes video no
I Run For Life(ooops my mistake again-not video but audio)
Drag Me Away
Nervous
I'm The Only One
Bring Me Some Water
Like The Way I Do

Encore:
Gently We Row

Amazing night even though in the venue it got crazy as it did outside just for my friend to try and find parkin in Harlem. Its nuts and masses of people outside the venue later trying to get their cars that were valet parked where some were left on the street :jawdrop: (our friends car was and we didnt even know it as we stood on the street for at least 30 mins waiting for them to drive it up) total nuts and earlier inside so hard to find where your seat was and so many were seated in wrong places with security arguing with some to move over or get out!! Crazy as seats were not marked very well by the time I got inside which was right at 8pm. Lights went out maybe 8 mins after I got in and a few mins once I did find my seat.
Talk about in the nick of time!! And had so many folks to meet up with so many ticket exchanges :D

Glad to meet Linda and friend who got those 102.7 tickets. Glad I could help u gals out and you got there seconds before I did. Glad you could enjoy this show at the very last minute and get there on time.

Thank you Jamie so much for driving and Katey for being the co-pilot!! I would never have attempted to do what you gals did!! Amazing!! :thumbs up:
Shout out to a lot who I met there or passed by!!
Steph(glad that 4th row ticket worked out well and enjoy that sticker)
Also shout out to Linda T (you have a mission today  ), Kathyb,(love the hat ;) ) Nat,(thanks for that great unique gift  ) Lor(arent you glad Mel emailed you  ), Brendan, Kate, Darlene(video and photo gal), Barb, Lisa, Marylou, Marie and company(see how well that sticker worked again :D , Sal(OMG didnt recognize you as you saw when I said 'who are you  ), Diane(ticket networking buddy), also saw Tracy and Kris in the 3rd row center but couldnt reach out to say hi about then so what was the sign you held up to MLE and I think she read it and nodded???( I think).....and a few others I just cant think of now

and Twitter/BE/BJ -Linda who texted me who was right behind me (well 2 rows w/ Nat) and I didnt even know it till I turned around after 30 mins,

Melissa was so amazing last night and cant wait to see her in Ac if I do not score some Brunswick tickets :D Anyone??? Hey I share a lot or try and network for others so its my turn to reach out!! :D

If you havent seen her this tour and I know the videos are great that everyone shares but don't miss the chance. Nothing is as good as seeing her live!! A friend of mine commented after she went to the first show this tour in the states that I should grab every ticket I could get my hands on and now I know what she meant(she wasn't kidding) Thanks for the advice Barb!! :thumbs up: . Even though I attended the PC RIchards show, Grammy Artist revealed and was a guest at GMA it doesnt compare to a FULL almost 3 hr show of Melissa rockin out!!! Nothing does!! Don't miss that chance if you get the opportunity!! :D

The show last night was by far the best I have ever seen of Melissa. She rocked like the true sense of the word. We got to the area fairly early and scouted out the quaint neighborhood. I have never been to that end of Broadway and I was a little nervous about venturing out. We walked around for hours. It was a great experience to share in the culture and walk in and out of the non touristy stores. It put a different spin on NYC for me. Enjoyed some fantastic fresh pineapple on a stick, baked goods and coffee from a small spanish bakery and a few drinks at a local favorite restaurant that had a great 4pm-9pm happy hour.

Most difficult part of the driving adventure was finding the United Palace. Was it a secret that Melissa was playing at this church? No sign, no picture, not even a blurb in the bulletin? Some people at the church had no idea who was playing there that night. That I found odd. Marlo and I stood at the mailbox shaking our heads at concert goers look bewildered as we had hours ago. We stayed at the mailbox, with our matching Tat Fearless Tees, to acknowledge that this was indeed the place of the concert. It was a lot of fun. Met many friendly people and saw a lot of MLE familiar faces.

Makes me itchy to look for tickets for her other appearances. I know what NYBabe is talking about. . . Thanks MEIN for the great seats and thanks Melissa for an awesome night.. . Still trying to find the socks she rocked off my feet. . .

Last Night in NYC was amazing. Heaven on Earth and Indiana...totally rocked. I love watching Melissa try to break in the new guys....sometimes she looks like a momma duck leading them around the stage and trying to get them to be where she wants them....way too cute. So glad I have three more shows to go to...might need to add another. She is on phucking fire and it should not be missed!!!

HONESTLY Melissa was on fire last night. :twitchshocked:

I HONESTLY don't know where Melissa gets the energy to do what she does on stage night after night. :winner:

They say there are always TWO SIDES to every story ;) , but last night there was only one side: MELISSA ROCKED.

I was thrilled she sang one of my all time fav songs (cut to the videotape  ) NO WHERE TO GO.

I had fun during the first short stage rush at the beginning of the show, but then we were ushered back to our seats until the middle of Indiana (which again was AMAZING).....seems this is now a no miss song for MLE. The crowds was super pleasant at this show...small issues of people trying to hang out in the aisle but security did their job and had them go back to their seats...which made for a clear run when the stage rush went down. Again the crowd was really pleasant and meet some really nice people. (Donna, hope the bartending picks up for you soon).

Its true.....she turns it up every time she is in NYC, (even if we were in Spanish Harlem...which to us locals..thats not NYC. .....its like I say I live in NYC when I actually live in Staten Island, which is part of NYC but no one here says we live in NYC)

And do to the insane parking situation I don't think I would venture out to this venue again.....lets just leave it at that. :thumbs down:

Melissa's guitar playing was really great last night and she was really into the show, the music, and THE PEOPLE. Seems she has a thing about PEOPLE ....

Had fun with Gently We Row....but wish it was not the last song of the night.

So glad to have seen MLE as these are the shows we are going to remember for a long time she has bumped it up a few levels from past tours/shows.

Everyone has really positive things to say but I have to say I saw a different side of it. First of all, the venue was so difficult to find and no posters or anything that read Melissa's name. The whole place shook the sound was sooo off. The bass and instruments were pounding so loud that people were walking out, they couldnt take it. It was even drowning melissa out! Anyway have that experience? Btw I have a question for any of the fans that waited..did Mle come out after the show and sign for you guys? :peace:

Yes I agree about the theater being hard to find for those not knowing where it was and having nothing to show she was playing there and the location and parking was terrible besides all the confusing inside. I didnt know that there were sound issues in some locations of the theater. Curious to know where your seats were in relation to that. I was lucky to be in the 5th row all the way right but not extreme right. I was more in front of the drummer. Not that I have the best ear for instruments but I had no problem with the sound and listening to the audio back didnt feel it was bad at all but again that is just my own opinion. I can't say how it sounded from further back or the balcony. Sorry there was that experience. As IAM said Id hesitate going again to that theater for a # of reasons.

She was on fire and rocked NYC! I got to the theater around 6PM after my 40 minute ride on the A train. The outside of the theater was kinda scary looking but the inside was beautiful. I was to meet my friend Chris one block away at the only gay bar in "the hood". I found the bar after walking past it 3 times....just a door and no windows, not easy to spot. I walked in and I was the only one there. Started talking to the bartender and told him about Melissa playing right there...one block over. I told him there were many ladies walking around "the hood" with that deer in the headlight look on their face. He decided to put a huge rainbow flag outside by the front door to lure them in. It totally worked....once he put that flag out, Melissa fans started pouring in! So much fun. In a matter of minutes the place was packed! My friend Chris arrived around 6:45 and since the bar was playing dance music everyone made him walk 3 blocks back to his car when they found out he had Melissa music on his ipod. The bartender hooked up the ipod to the soundsystem and now the whole place was rockin' to the new album! It was just an impromptu Melissa party. We rocked that bar untill showtime!
Once inside the theater, Chris and I ran into some of the girls from the bar and just had the best time. Rosie and her girlfriend were right in front of us and dancing and rockin to every song.
I've never been so high as when I'm up all night in New York City....hey hey hey!

That is freakin Awesome!! Bravo the bartender for his fast thinkin!! Very cool that Rosie was there right in front of you. Wonder if we shall hear from that gal that Rosie arranged to meet MLE that night....oh where oh where are you!! :D We want to hear all about it!!

Thanks MeetMe...that was a great story and wish more of us could have attended but we were just worried to even get there in time for the show to start and as you can see I at least made it ;)

Extra note: Listened to the audio this morning(well some of it ) in my car,.....freakin rocks. One thing I can tell is when I held the camera up to record of course it got better sharper audio than just down but at times I felt I had to bring it down not knowing how security was going to react but eventually it was up a lot!! Have to keep that in mind for tonite even if its not getting video its up a bit higher to get the best sound!! :D

:peace:

Sorry you had that experience with the sound. i actually thought the sound was perfect, better than most places I have seen her play. I did hear however that the speakers on the left side of the stage (MLE's right) seemed to be having trouble - I wonder if that was what you were hearing. I really liked that theater, easy to get to, parking was close by (yes it took some time to get all the cars out, but that's the case in most NYC parking garages) and a great "pit" area for stage rushing!!!

As far as signing autographs.....we heard they took MLE out a different door and she was wisked away in her van, so no autographs :( It started raining anyway, so I didn't expect she would stand in the rain for anyone.

10 1/2 hours until we do it all again!!!!!!! :wheee!: :wheee!:

For those of you who have downloaded the NYC show 7-14-10, #10 track of 'The Wanting of You' was incomplete so above is a repaired link for just that song.

If you hadnt already then just use this link instead of #10.

Thanks KY :D no pun intended  and more to come

Got tonites Brunswick show (all audio) and some good moments on video that will be up on youtube this week. No time now as we head to AC early in the am. Planning on that show also so then both shows will be popped into the MP3 thread and on the individual threads of each show so no one misses it. This time I will try to make no mistakes. I dont think any song was cut so thats good and the sound I know is great. Videos also will be up once I get the chance. I know others were doing that too so watch out for those sooner than mine!! :D

WOW! There are very few female artists that can play a guitar the way Melissa does. We had front row center seats thanks to the fan club which gave us a great spot when we rushed the stage. I loved Melissa's encore because that song really highlights Melissa's talent as a lyricist. We were on our feet rocking for almost 3 hours. It was a strange venue, but the concert was awsome! :clapping:
